Kenyan 10,000 meters sprinter and 2019 New York Marathon victor Geoffrey Kamworor has pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics because of a lower leg injury, he revealed to BBC Sport Africa on Thursday.
The 28-year-old is a three times world Half Marathon champion, and past world record holder, and had any desires for a decoration in the 10,000m subsequent to winning the public preliminaries.
He won silver at the 2015 big showdowns in Beijing, behind Britain's Mo Farah.
The injury comes after he was hit by a cruiser while preparing close to his home in June last year, experiencing a cracked tibia.
